HTC confirms its blockchain smartphone, the Exodus

The Exodus, from HTC, is set to bring blockchain and cryptocurrency to the smartphone…
After first announcing back in the spring that it had plans for its blockchain-utilising smartphone, HTC has now confirmed that said phone will be on sale in the third quarter of this year.
It’s called the Exodus, and according to the newly-launched website to promote it, it’s “the first cold wallet phone with key recovery”.
As per the official promotional blurb, “our vision is to expand the blockchain ecosystem by creating the world’s first phone dedicated to decentralized applications and security. With the release of the HTC Exodus we can now make this a reality”.
Every Exodus phone will boast a universal wallet, and will also act as a node in the blockchain. “We want to double and triple the number of nodes of Ethereum and Bitcoin”, HTC adds.
HTC’s commitment to blockchain and cryptocurrency isn’t new, and indeed, the firm has a chief crypto officer, Phil Chen.
More details of the Exodus are expected in the next few days. You can sign up to reserve yours now, right here.
