Fernando Alonso signs up for blockchain image rights protection service

Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has become the newest customer of KodakOne…

We’ve reported before on KodakCoin, an ICO that launched earlier this year that works in tandem with an image rights management platformed called KodakOne.

The idea behind the platform is to help photographers protect their work, by creating a blockchain-backed digital ledger of rights ownership.

The project is actually the work of Wenn Digital, who has licenced the Kodak brand name. It looks to be working too, with the announcement that former Formula One racing champion Fernando Alonso has become a customer.

Alonso has signed an agreement that has made KodakOne “the exclusive image registration, protection and license-monitoring solution” for images of Alonso.

Alonso himself added in the official announcement statement that “We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC. I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity, and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform”.
